Como usar o Claude Code com a Melpen Labz

Claude Code is an AI coding tool that runs in your terminal. The Melpen Labz API is compatible with it: just point two environment variables to our gateway.

What you will need

The API key is generated in the dashboard after you choose a plan.

1. Install Claude Code

You need Node.js 18 or newer. In your terminal, run:

npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code

2. Quick test on Windows (PowerShell)

Applies only to the open terminal window:

$env:ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL = "https://api.melpen.tech" $env:ANTHROPIC_API_KEY = "SUA_CHAVE_AQUI" claude

3. Quick test on macOS and Linux

Applies only to the current terminal session:

export ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL="https://api.melpen.tech" export ANTHROPIC_API_KEY="SUA_CHAVE_AQUI" claude

4. Permanent setup (recommended)

Create or edit the file ~/.claude/settings.json (on Windows: C:\Users\YOUR_USER\.claude\settings.json) with the content below. If there is a config.json in the same folder with another key, delete it first.

In Claude Code the Base URL goes without /v1 at the end. It adds the path by itself.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an Anthropic account?
No. Claude Code only uses the key and Base URL you configure; an Anthropic login is not required.

Does it work on Windows?
Yes. Use PowerShell for the quick test or settings.json to keep it configured for good.
